His expertise lies in assisting clients in all aspects of labour law, industrial relations and social security. His clients include national and multinational business enterprises, local and national public authorities, and private individuals.
Tiziano served as a Full Professor of Labour Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Pavia from 1971 to 1988, and as a Professor of Labour Law at the Faculty of Law of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan from 1988 to 2013. He currently holds the title of Emeritus Professor at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.
Tiziano has also been an External Lecturer at the University of Leuven (Belgium) and at the Faculty of Law of the University of Paris (Nanterre) in 1986.
He has been active in many national and international professional associations and public institutions. From 1980 to 1991, he served as President of the Associazione Italiana per lo Studio delle Relazioni Industriali (Italian Association for the Study of Industrial Relations) and as President of the International Industrial Relations Association from 1995 to 1998. From 2015 to 2018, he held the position of President of the ISLSSL (International Society for Labour and Social Security Law). From 1993 to 1995, Tiziano was President of ARAN, the Agency for Negotiation Representation of Public Administrations. From 1990 to 1992, he was a Member of the National Commission for Guarantees on strikes affecting essential sectors.
Tiziano served as Minister of Labour and Social Security for the Italian Government from 1995 to 1998. Subsequently, from 1998 to 1999, he held the position of Minister of Transportation in the Italian Government. He was a Senator of the Italian Republic until April 2013. From 2013 to 2016, he served on the Board of the CNEL (National Council for Economics and Labour) and, from 2017 to 2023, he served as its President.
Tiziano has written many essays and books on labour law, trade union law and industrial relations, both on Italian law and comparative law. One of his most recent publications is “Labour Law in Italy, Fifth Edition, Wolters Kluwer, 2016.”
Tiziano is a speaker at national and international conferences and courses on labour law.
Before joining WST (formerly Fieldfisher Italy), he worked as a consultant and Partner at other Italian and international law firms.
